The Morons’ Club
Introduction
There actually was a Morons’ Club in the late 1940s in my hometown of Waldheim. There have been several requests for me to publish this book, but as regular publishers rejected it and I didn’t have the cash to publish it myself, I am pacing it here for those to read. It was a time when everyone had nicknames, a time when there was limited entertainment, no social media, and young boys would have to entertain themselves. Oldtimers of Waldheim will recognize the names of the main characters, Henry Feyerabend, Norman Bartel, Eldred Fast, and others. I only found out about the Morons’ Club when I attended Henry Feyerabend’s funeral when Eldred Fast reminisced about the club. I became interested and gathered stories from Eldred, Norman’s wife, Mary Bartel, and Rosella Braun. I have inserted a time traveler into the story to create a contrast between then and now. I hope you enjoy the story.
