Funny Thing

Out of the blue, a publisher emailed me to say he liked the book The Colors Jesse Sees and asked if I was working on another project. As it happens, I was. Over the past year, I had been working with Stacey Matson, the Saskatoon Public Library writer-in-residence, who asked me, “Do you have any other weird stories? You could put them together to make an episodic novel.” As it happened, I did have some more, and I wrote several extra episodes. The result was the manuscript So, You Think I’m Weird.

The publisher said I needed an agent. I didn’t have one, so he referred me to one, which got me in the door. The agent wanted some editing done and suggested an editor where the novel now sits. This certainly beats the rejections I’ve been getting.

The next pages

I will be introducing you to the characters in the novel over time. Come back regularly to see who is in the next chapter. I think you are going to like these eccentric characters.

Mom, do you think I’m weird because I took a bite out of the bar of soap?
