The Idea For the Color Jesse Sees

When I was in Labrador I was introduced to a young boy Jesse who was obsessed with tractors. He identified colors by tractor colors. The line that tied me to the story is that Jesse called 7Up, John Deere Sour Beer because it came in a green bottle. The story stuck with me for many years before I wrote it down. I wanted to give the book the title John Deere Sour Beer but the publisher didn’t like the word beer in the title and the lawyer didn’t like the word John Deere, so my wife Dorothy came up with the alternative.
